Light particle started as an experiment by producing a video based on the “feel” of the soundtrack. The music is an original piece composed by Alessandro Petrolati, it is completely synthetic and computer generated. It is also very dynamic, with large pads, an extended range of frequencies and a great mix of textures and sounds. So what I did was basically try to visualize it by using colors, lights, and moods to match the feeling of the track. I used both synthetic images and photos composited together, along with some heavily filtered video.
Light Particle screened at Pesaro International Film Fest in July 2004.
