I visited The Netherlands twice in 2005, and I really like this little country. There's a nice mix of tradition and modernism, both in architecture and in people (needless to say, I prefer modernism). Baarlo is a small town, with lots of green space and deep into the country — I liked its tiny streets, the little houses, the mix of colors. Amsterdam is really big, but it's such an amazing city that you can almost breathe this different culture. There are a lot of interesting places, too bad I only spent a couple of days there. And in case you're wondering, the sentence on the main photo means “No service on the terrace”, and it's set in Clarendon.
